TradingView Backtest Lie Detector
How to export from TradingView
In TradingView open the Strategy Tester, go to List of trades, and export the trades as CSV. Upload that file here.
What the grade checks
- Fees: every trade is recomputed at a round-trip fee from 0 to 20 bps, and you see the fee at which the edge dies.
- Regimes: trades are split into Bull, Bear, Chop and Quiet markets.
- Luck: your result is compared with 500 random-entry bots making the same trades, plus the deflated Sharpe ratio.
Grades run S, A, B, C, D, F. Any failed check caps the grade and says why. Your file is not stored unless you choose to create a certificate.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Is my TradingView backtest realistic?
- Most backtests ignore or understate fees and slippage. The grade recomputes every trade at real round-trip costs and shows the fee at which the strategy stops making money.
- What is a deflated Sharpe ratio?
- It is the probability that the Sharpe ratio is real after accounting for how many versions of the strategy you tried.
